We use your data solely to manage club activities and keep members and community partners informed:

  • Sending email and text reminders for weekly club meetings.

  • Providing updates on community service projects and volunteer opportunities.

  • Sending alerts for upcoming fundraising events and club schedules.

3. Third-Party Data Sharing (SMS Compliance Clause)

We strictly protect your private data and adhere to mobile carrier compliance rules:

  • No Commercial Sharing: We do not sell, rent, share, or trade your personal information, email addresses, mobile phone numbers, or SMS consent with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes.

  • TextMagic Service Provider: Your phone number and message data are shared securely with TextMagic for the sole purpose of sending our club text reminders. They are contractually forbidden from using your data for any other purpose.

4. Data Security and Retention

We use secure access controls within our club administration tools and TextMagic account to guard your information. We retain your contact data only as long as you choose to remain on our communication lists.

5. Your Rights and Opt-Outs

You can leave our communication lists at any time. Every email contains an "Unsubscribe" link, and you can completely stop receiving text messages by replying STOP to any text we send.

SMS & EMAIL TERMS OF SERVICE

These Terms govern the text messaging and email alert program operated by the Higginsville Rotary Club.

1. Program Description & Types of Messages

By opting into our notification program, you consent to receive club updates. Messages consist of:

  • Meeting Reminders: Alerts regarding upcoming weekly meetings, guest speakers, or venue changes.

  • Service & Event Alerts: Timely notices about Higginsville Rotary community service events, volunteer shifts, and fundraisers.

2. Explicit User Consent (Opt-In)

You explicitly consent to receive automated club reminders by:

  • Providing your phone number and email on your Rotary membership form.

  • Verbally requesting a club officer to add you to the TextMagic notification roster.

  • Submitting your contact info via an official club signup sheet or web form.

3. Message Frequency and Timing

Message frequency varies based on club activities. You can expect to receive approximately 2 to 5 text and email reminders per month, primarily leading up to club events and weekly meetings.

4. Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply for text messages. Charges are billed by your mobile carrier according to your individual cell phone plan. The Higginsville Rotary Club does not charge you to receive these updates.

5. How to Opt-Out (Stop Messages)

You can cancel the text service at any time. Text the word STOP to our messaging number to unsubscribe. After texting STOP, TextMagic will process your removal and send one final text confirming you are unsubscribed. To stop email reminders, click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any club email.

6. How to Get Help (Support)

If you stop receiving messages or need help troubleshooting, text the word HELP to our messaging number, or speak directly with a club officer at our next weekly meeting.

7. Limitation of Liability

We rely on mobile networks and email servers to deliver updates. We and our vendor, TextMagic, are not liable for delayed, misdirected, or undelivered communications.
